About Us

A Story Born from Love, Pain, and Healing

MoHA was created with love, necessity, and a deeply personal journey of self-healing. MoHA stands for Mehar of Hearing Ability. Mehar my daughter, whose name means “blessing,” is the inspiration behind this organization. Through her journey, I learned that even in the most difficult moments, awareness can become a blessing for many others. This organization exists so that no child’s struggle with hearing loss goes unnoticed, undiagnosed, or unsupported.

A Story Born from Love, Pain, and Healing

Mehar’s Journey
A Story of Missed Diagnosis and Resilience

Mehar’s childhood seemed normal. She had regular checkups, routine ear examinations, and no major concerns.
But in October 2021, everything changed. A strange smell from her ear led to further testing, and for the first time, we were told she needed a hearing test and surgery to repair damage that had gone unnoticed.

A Series of Surgeries

  • In January 2022, at just seven years old, Mehar underwent her first ear surgery.

  • Her hearing did not fully improve, and she continued to need hearing aids.

  • Over the next few years, the challenges continued.

  • In December 2024, Mehar experienced severe ear pain and had to be rushed to the emergency department.

  • Doctors discovered that a previous prosthesis had shifted, causing further damage to her eardrum.

  • During surgery, they also found severely enlarged adenoids, something that had never been checked before.

Our Vision

We envision a future where:

We believe that with awareness, education, and timely intervention, children can overcome hearing challenges and live confident, successful lives.

Who We Are

I am a parent, a professional, and an advocate—roles that were once distinct but are now deeply fused by experience. With a background in health sciences and over 20 years in critical care settings across the United States, I have dedicated my career to the service of others. My journey has been purposefully diverse, spanning the front lines of clinical care, the rigor of academia, and the strategic world of consulting.
However, my most profound education didn’t come from a textbook or a boardroom. Despite my medical knowledge and professional expertise, I was blindsided by a challenge I never saw coming: my own child’s hearing loss. That moment transformed my career into a calling. Today, I combine my clinical foundation with the lived reality of a parent to advocate for families navigating similar paths, ensuring that no one has to bridge the gap between medical complexity and personal advocacy alone.
“No child should struggle in silence. No parent should feel lost or unsupported. No hearing problem should go unnoticed. Early intervention can change a child’s entire future.”

Why MoHA Exists

Mehar’s journey showed us a reality many families face. Children are often misdiagnosed. Hearing problems are overlooked. Parents are not given the right guidance early enough. Some children are labeled with behavioral or learning disorders, when the real issue is hearing loss. Early diagnosis could change everything. There are treatments, interventions, and resources available — but families need awareness to find them. That is why MoHA was created.

Our Message

No child should struggle in silence No parent should feel lost or unsupported No hearing problem should go unnoticed Early intervention can change a child’s entire future.

Our Mission

To spread awareness about hearing health, to promote early screening, and to support families on the journey from diagnosis to recovery. Because every child deserves to hear the world clearly.
